Andover CERT
 A Community Emergency Response Team is being formed in Andover to support the First Selectman and Fire Department in times of need and is looking for volunteers.
A Community Emergency Response Team is being formed in Andover to support the First Selectman and Fire Department in times of need. If you are looking for a new way to volunteer in your community, learn practical survival and community assistance skills, and protect your own family, this is a great opportunity. Citizens of all ages and abilities are needed to start training in January of 2007.
If you can:
- make phone calls,
- keep an events log,
- go door to door to notify your neighbors in an emergency,
- help with the search and rescue of lost persons,
- help remove debris after a storm,
- assist in shelter management,
- administer first aid, CPR, or use an AED,
- use a radio,
- assist with damage assessment,
- educate others about fire safety and home emergency kits,
- assist with evacuation efforts
