Audit Report Available
The recently completed town audit is available. It is a long, detailed read, but worth spending some time on.
The audit report discloses a difference of opinion involving the Board of Education and the classification of certain encumbered expenditures. This difference of opinion relates to whether or not these expenditures were ongoing projects at the end of the fiscal year. Other then that, the audit report states that the financial statements of the Town "present fairly, in all material respects, the respective financial position of the general fund of the Town of Andover, Connecticut, as of June 30, 2007, and the respective changes in financial information and the respective budgetary comparison for the general fund for the year then ended in conformity with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America."
