Items That Can Be Brought to the Transfer Station
- Household waste: large trash receptacle.
- Recyclables: large recycling receptacle. SINGLE STREAM plastics 2-9, glass, paper and cardboard – can be mixed. *Cardboard must be cut down to fit into compactor. Flatten or nest boxes when possible.
- Furniture, large toys, etc.: large bulky waste container. *Think before you dump. There are many local organizations to donate old furniture, toys, household items, etc. Find a local Facebook group or network! You can save the town waste costs and help someone in your community.
- Scrap metal: large metal container.
- Spent oil and antifreeze: place in shipping container on left, please ask attendant for location.
- Tires: lower level, place in the open shed next to the C.A.R.T. bottle recycling. Exluding large/commercial tires. (no backhoe/loader/tractor tires)
- Refrigerators, Freezers and Air Conditioners: lower level on the right behind the attendant shed. *Doors must be off.
- Toilets & Laundry Machines: place in bulky waste container.
- Mattresses: place in bulky waste container.
- Sofas: place in bulky waste container.
- Carpet: place in bulky waste container. *Must be cut in 5′ squares or smaller.
- Electronics/Computers: place in shipping container on the right next to the attendant shed.
- Brush: located behind the lower level. *Only lawn clippings and branches up to three inches in diameter will be accepted.
- Old paint cans (ONLY DRIED UP ONES): place in bulky waste container. *Full/wet ones can be brought to a local paint store - call beforehand. Click here for Paint Can Drop-off Centers.
Rules and Guidelines:
- Transfer Station sticker required. Visit the Transfer Station homepage for details on how to acquire a sticker from the Town Clerk's Office.
- Residential waste only. No commercial waste permitted. Exessive use will be monitored and reported. Any abuse of this privilege will be will result in Transfer Station sticker being revoked.
- Drive carefully.
- DO NOT smoke while handling and transporting materials.

Donations Accepted:
- Household goods and clothing for Salvation Army and Charities of Hope. List of textiles from midNEROC facility.
